Two Axiome in Rotation
date: 2007
type: drinking glass
material: hand blown crystal
size: 108 x 103 x 103 mm
design: Thomas Feichtner
producer: J. & L. Lobmeyr GmbH, Austria
"Two Axiome in Rotation"are two drinking glasses taking up the typical language of forms of "Axiome". For the first time, however, they do not consist of straight surfaces. The glasses gain their three-dimensional body only by rotating the "Axiome", which explains the term "Axiome in rotation". The shape of the glasses is reflected horizontally, thus creating two different glasses from one form. "Two Axiome in Rotation" are produced by the old-established glass manufacture of J. & L. Lobmeyr. The enterprise is closely connected with the Austrian history of design: Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Matteo Thun have already created design for Lobmeyr.
